Don't miss our upcoming Pacific Region Convention in Spokane! The dates are April 22-24, 2010 at the Red Lion Inn at the Park. There is a pre-convention tour & tea to the historic Davenport Hotel, a tour to the restored Fox Theater, Manito Park's Japanese Park and Conservatory and more. The Post Convention tour has been cancelled. 
 
Capitol’s District’s fund raiser, “The Decadent Housewives of Hysteria Lane” Capitol is now available to perform for other districts. If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser for your district contact nkomnick@hotmail.com or call Joyce at 253.582.7325.

It’s Smoke Signals time again! Contributors, please submit your article or ad by February 1st!    If your club or district has an upcoming event Smoke Signals is a great place to advertise.

“Mary In March” is the theme for GALA on March 15th. Mary Huntoon is our designer, travelling from Massachusetts to wow us with her designs and knowledge. If you don’t have your ticket yet, they are available from gingerknutsen@msn.com or 206.362.2525.  Join us for a fabulous day of friendship, entertainment and great food!

As most of you know, Karen Lee created a Membership Brochure for your club or district to use. It is now available on our site so you can download it.

NGC News Too!

Last year’s NGC membership winner was Wyoming.  Their Canna, named ‘Wyoming Wildfire’ is for sale to garden club members. Order 'Wyoming Wildfire!' canna. Grown by American Daylily & Perennial Company, it is a beautiful disease resistant plant with red to red/orange blooms with dark purple/black foliage and a height of 3 ½ feet.  The cost of each ‘Wyoming Wildfire’ is $14.00, including shipping and handling.  Send your order now and it will be shipped at the appropriate time for planting. After April 20th, shipping and handling will be extra.

The Native Plants Patch for Girl Scouts program teaches girls what plants are native to their area and how to preserve and protect those native plants s well as what invasive species are in their area. Learn more about the program through Chair, Lorraine Wagness 206.242.9074 or download the information sheet from the NGC website. Patches are available through NGC Services for $1.75 each, including shipping & handling.

Judges: The horticulture Since many flower shows appear to be including fruits, vegetables and nuts in their schedules, the FSS Committee believes it is necessary to have Evaluation Forms for point scoring these items individually as well as in collections.
